Insurance is essential to protect you and your property from unforeseen accidents that may happen when work is done on your home. Be aware that if the Contractor does not have workman's compensation insurance and a worker gets hurt on your job, you could be held responsible. Liability applies to you if the contractor damages your neighbor's property and doesn't have liability insurance.
We carry General Liability insurance, which is essential to protect you and your property from unforeseen accidents that may happen when work is done on your home. When comparing contractors, for extra peace of mind ask the contractor the name of his insurance company and call that insurance company to verify that he does have liability and workman's compensation coverage currently in force. The MA registration or license process does not require proof of insurance.
We also carry the required Workers' Compensation insurance, which covers our workers if they get hurt on your job. Reputable companies carry workers' compensation insurance to cover their workers. In fact, with limited exceptions, every employer in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts with one or more employee(s) is required by law to have a valid workers' compensation insurance policy at all times. |
